i've been keeping my eye out for some nice buttons and other types of fastening for my cardigans. i'm gravitating towards a super simple look lately so wanted to find some natural and fairly plain looking buttons to go. i didn't find it that easy to find buttons that are actually made of wood and not plastic imitation, i must have gone to four different places before i found the round ones shown. i also have a little stash of fabric that's inspiring me at the moment and that i'm going to use for small details on my pieces.
i also found these buttons that are hand tooled by a man in western australia. i'm not fond of knitwear that's overly cute or hippy-ish but i thought these were quite sweet and spent ages choosing ones that i didn't think were too twee - they may be treading a fine line though - what do you think?
and i also rediscovered these giant vintage pins that i bought some time ago. i think they were used for horse blankets once upon a time. it's always tempting to keep everything, but i may let four of them go!
