i also discovered a little place in south melbourne selling some FLW bags - mashiko life. doesn't look like there's a lot on the website at the moment but the address is 17 yarra place south melbourne (right near st ali). the owner also told me about nipori in tokyo, also known as 'fabric town'. she said there's a whole street of amazing fabric and wooden buttons. naturally i'm dying to go now.
