new things and thoughtful people

i've crossed a few things off my 'to do' list recently - ones that have been on there for quite some time. first of all, the small shapes cardi, with buttons and available in small and medium. i'm so happy about this; grading (or making different sizes) was something i dreaded doing but now i've worked out some kind of system (well, time will tell whether it's good enough to be called a system or not). i'll tackle a size large next.

next up, the small shapes cardi in jet (black). i've used the snaps on grosgrain for this as i have quite a few of the blue ones. i can make it with buttons if required. i don't wear a lot of black but i probably couldn't call myself a fashion designer or a melbournian if i didn't make something in black.

i also had a custom order for the button pocket sweater in midnight blue. i'm more than happy to take colour change requests like this.

on the weekend i received the most delightful email from nicomi with a collage she had made for me based on a couple of PRIMOEZA scarves.  i was so touched by this gesture and love the quote. nicomi's blog, fernbeds, documents her amazingly intricate artwork and she also makes jewelry. you can see ursula modelling a piece here. thanks so much nicomi.

and last of all for today, i finally had some fabric labels printed. i don't know why, but sometimes little things just seem like such huge hurdles. i can be a commitaphobe and the idea of having 1000 labels printed has been overwhelming but it's just getting to the point that it seems that i can't do everything myself, so i bit the bullet. i'm relieved that i did.
