The other night I was trying to explain to friends what my favourite aesthetic is. In my typical inarticulate (exacerbated by many glasses of wine) way, the best I could say was, I like it to look old but modern! They took the ball and ran to the end of the field with it, giving several examples of my unlikely juxtaposition of opposites, the last one offered up being, so you want your hair to look long but short!
